Short Courses

Offer a range of bespoke short courses, staff development courses and Government Funded back to work Programmes including:

4-6 week short courses for unemployed people over the age of 19 that are almost ready for work but need a vocational qualification to help remove the barriers to employment.

6-8 week Sector Based Work Academies for people over the age of 19. 

The Sector Based Work Academy includes work experience during the course and a guaranteed job interview with the Employer on successful completion of the course.

A traineeship is a skills development program that includes a work placement. It can last from 6 weeks up to 1 year, though most traineeships last for less than 6 months. 

A procurement opportunity is being launched for providers to access additional funding to deliver 19-24 traineeships.

Young Apprenticeships

The world is changing fast and to get ahead you need up to date skills. But you don’t need to sit in a classroom all day to get them – there are other ways of learning that could suit you. 

An Apprenticeship is a real job with training so you can earn while you learn and get recognised qualifications as you go. 

After finishing, the majority of apprentices will stay in employment, with two-thirds staying with the same employer. Employers think that qualified apprentices are 35% more employable than those with other qualifications.

Adult Apprenticeships
Adult apprenticeships have been designed for those who are 19+, are already in employment, and who want to progress in their chosen occupation. 

We offer a wide range of work-based apprenticeships, including higher apprenticeships developed by employers for employers, to help businesses grow the leaders of the future.

In order to begin an apprenticeship, you must be employed. On the job, you’ll work as an employee, alongside experienced staff members. 


Off the job, you’ll learn with the assessor through a combination of learning methods that may include; online assessments and training in your workplace. 


Each apprenticeship involves a structured program of training leading to a recognised qualification, and they are available at different levels, letting you choose the speed you wish to learn. 


All of our apprenticeships are work-based training programs, so most of the training is ‘on the job’ – at your premises.

There are three levels of apprenticeship available:

  • Intermediate Apprenticeship (Level 2), equivalent to five GCSE’s (A-C)
  • Advanced apprenticeship (Level 3), equivalent to two A levels
  • Higher apprenticeship (Level 4 & 5), equivalent to a Higher National Certificate.

An apprenticeship is made up of the following components:

  • A knowledge-based element (Technical Certificate)
  • A competence-based element (NVQ)
  • Transferable or Functional Skills (i.e. English, Maths, ICT)
  • An overview of Employment Rights and Responsibilities
  • End Point Assessment (New Standards)
